I just caught this report by the local Beeb news team on the number of local councillors who are in arrears on their own council tax.
Which set me thinking along two different lines.
Firstly, if this is happening in Cornwall, how many of your own local councillors are in arrears on their own council tax?
Whilst the law allows councillors to be up to two months in arrears and yet still be able to vote on budgetary matters. Surely this should be changed to zero, after all there are no ifs, nor buts if you're on the other side.
Secondly, is it purely coincidence that all the Cornish councillors are Lib/Dems?
Taking their lead from Christopher Murray Paul-Huhne, their speeding points dodging Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, who obviously thinks the law is for the poor plebs and not Lib/Dems.
I will be doing it as soon as I get back oop north!
