First they came for our pubs ...

First of all I must declare an interest here, I'm a pipe smoker who is trying to cut down, or even stop if I could. Not for health reasons but because I object to paying our piggy trough supporting government anymore in taxes than I have too.
Whilst I agreed in principle with smoking ban, it's inflexibility I felt was going to have repercussions on our hostelries that would in the long term kill them off. Even the most brain cell challenged anti smoker could see that, but they just went ahead with their blanket ban on smoking.
Looking at the number of boarded up/demolished public houses, just around here, I think that fear was more than justified.
Now the sneaky anti-smoking brigade is looking at doing the same with our private motor vehicles, using the children's health scare as their foot-in-the-door approach.

"There is robust evidence that the level of toxic chemicals is very high in cars, even with a window open."

Excuse me Dr. Jewell but where is this robust evidence?
Especially with an open window, when I smoke in my car with the window cracked open, I see the smoke going straight out the window!
Also Dr. Jewell have you considered some of these toxic chemicals might be coming from all the junk our cars are made out of nowadays? Gone are the times of just using steel and wood to construct our cars, instead they're full of all sorts of potential cancer inducing plastics. (I've got robust evidence of that!)

But no you won't consider any of that, instead you'll hide behind the little children as your human shield to get this ban in place and we all know where the ultimate goal is for you - our own homes!

First they came for our pubs, then our cars ...

Whilst you have been away I went for a chest X-ray. They found a shadow on my right lung. Now seeing consultant, and having a CT scan...

Fingers crossed John.

I should have been on my travels again, by now.
Consultant Quack wants me in for more tests on a previous problem that has maybe recurred - sooooo I know how it is to wait.

The Gov doesn't want us associating - in pubs or elsewhere.
Free debate is not to be allowed for the proles!!

Well they certainly don't want us having any enjoyment in these times of austerity Mr. ZhiwagolnGlesca.

Of course what they get up too in their subsidized bars and restaurants is none of our business - we're just sheeple!
