Well a bit of a late start to my morning as I'm usually up about 5ish but I managed another hour's worth of lay-in. Not that I'm in any hurry today as a bit later on this morning I'll be making an early start to my time back on the ship again.
I knew I shouldn't have answered that phone call yesterday!
Although between joining the ship today in Middlesboro' by car with all my Christmas goodies or, flying over late Wednesday/early Thursday to join in Zeebrugge with only hand luggage, I'm sure she knew which option I would have to take.
So a day late getting off, now a day early going back, I not a happy chappy. Especially as I had to run around yesterday afternoon getting everything done I thought I would have all today to do it in.
Well it's been a busy and interesting leave, certainly a lot of miles have been put in on our neglected roads. Even the recently upgraded section of the M1 was traversed at speeds no greater than 40mph due to congestion.
One thing I have learnt this leave which I'm sure the Beeb knows about as well yet I don't see any shrieking banner headlines. There has been no global warming for the past sixteen years.
Yes I'll just say that again - No global warming for the last sixteen years!
So just remember when one of the piggies tries to tell you it's all about saving the environment, they're lying to you, it's all about increasing taxes to get more of your hard earned pennies out of you.
As for Cast Iron's sudden concern for the livers of the poor - Forget it!
I'm indebted to Dick Puddlewick for the ability to show you just how much tax the government is getting out of us with present day wine prices, let alone his minimum pricing per unit, which Cast Iron will only get in by disguising it as another tax.
No-one appears to even be discussing the cost to the NHS of Cast Iron's pie-in-the-sky policies. Especially as more of the poor will seek out grubby van man and his Russian Mafia controlled distilling friends for their counterfeit cigs and fake vodka.
Finally, my mother is a great Dad's Army fan, so she'll be relieved to know that Jonesy butcher's van has been bought by the Dad's Army museum in Thetford.
Well that's all for now folks, I should be able to manage a few posts to keep you going thru the festive season, till then - Au revoir and may your gods smile down on you.
