First they came for the MSM ...

I suppose we are going to have to endure a Leveson dominated weekend, with the Beeb kicking it off with a The Media Show special yesterday afternoon, I just managed to reach the "Off" button before it got started.
Now this morning we are confronted with Alaistar Campbell throwing in his tuppence worth.
As former spin & sleaze master for nuLabor, not forgetting his valuable input to Tony Wot's His Name's dodgy dossier, one of the most qualified to talk on muzzling the Press! It's just a pity Mr Campbell hadn't taken a walk in the woods when he finished as propaganda über secretary for nuLabor.
However, when one looks at the characters lining up calling for some form of statutory control of the MSM, one has to wonder if their sights might not also include another group.
Us bloggers!
We were the pesky uncontrolled plebs who exposed many of Mr Campbell's voodoo, exposed many of the shortcomings/troughing of our elected piggies, stories the MSM were too inclined to ignore/hide in exchange for a few juicy titbits.
Probably caused the early death of a few Nokias when the Buffty frae Kirkcaldy and his henchmen were practicing their darks down in der Bunker.
And we're still a thorn in the side of the Westminster establishment!
So I might be wearing my old tinfoil cap when I view the pincher movement of internet control and muzzling of the MSM by our political elite. But I do wonder if they manage to certify the MSM, how much long it will be before the police are smashing our doors down, demanding to see our licences?

My eldest grandson and I will not be off to our usual Saturday haunt. There seems to have been an outbreak of Santa Specials on the heritage railways around here. So, as it's sunny and dry I think we might go out to enjoy some of our lovely Yorkshire countryside, with a flask of hot soup (Heinz Cream of Tomato - Of course!) to go with the sandwiches.

I hope you have an enjoyable day as well.

PS
Whilst TWHN & Mr Campbell's dodgy dossier brought many a tear, here's one that might get a smile out of you.

We are, and long may it continue!

Even if it means going offshore I'll keep pricking their thick hides and exposing their dirty little secrets.
