In a bit of a parody of the quote "Qu’ils mangent de la brioche / Let them eat cake", supposedly uttered by Marie Antoinette, used to illustrate her obliviousness of the plight of the French Poor.
Might Dirk Niebel's words (Germany's development minister) over what to do with the stocks of horse meat contaminated foods, give them to the poor, be the spark that sets off the European Spring?
Although I don't think many starving Greeks would object to horse meat food parcels from Germany instead of financial Panzers at the moment.
Herr Niebel might think his words show his compassion and understanding of his own country's less well off. Instead it shows the contempt and disdain that the political elites all over the EU are infected with for us proles.
And this is the sort of caring institution that the leaders of our own three main political parties want us to remain shackled too?
One has to ask if the Lib/Dems support for control over the Press might have been influenced by their own skelton-in-the-closet problems?
As for the claims the captain didn't even know what was going on on his own ship!!!
Yesterday was a bit chilly over in the Worth Valley but worth (excuse the pun) the visit as the KWVR's 2-8-0 Austerity 90733 was out doing running-in tests.
I look forward to riding behind her later on in the year.
